About the Event :

Following the huge success of the ‘How to help fund green space projects’ masterclass, we are delighted to announce the next housing sector event, taking place 23rd September 2022, 9.45am - 11am.

This is a must-attend virtual event for all those involved in supporting and delivering sustainability targets, estate operations, asset management and resident employment and training programmes within social housing and the care home sector.

Post COP26, and with the Levelling Up Whitepaper set to have a long reach over the next few years, the masterclass will consider how the housing sector can best address the growing green skills gap and empower tenants and residents to fill the new green jobs being created. Take away knowledge of the mechanisms to encourage green employability within social housing communities.

Gain external insight and practical advice from sustainability leaders:

  • Introductory Statement: Sam Jones, Housing Sector Lead, Ground Control
  • Keynote: Gavin Smart, CEO, Chartered Institute of Housing
  • Keynote: John Westby, Board Member, Green Skills Partnership
  • Keynote: Rob Andrews, Head of Employment, Skills and Training, Bolton at Home
  • Q&A and Closing remarks: Chaired by Ria Bailes

Together, we’ll explore how housing associations and care providers can meet the vital requirement for green jobs in the delivery of net zero targets. Consider the self-employment model and the positive impact it has had within social housing, and understand the collaborative approaches to develop green skills at pace and scale.
