What is Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA)?

Is there usually a fee with this course?

Yes. This course is valued at $170 and can be scheduled at any time for professional groups. However, due to the generous support of our partner, Wawa Foundation, we are able to offer this course at no cost for the community.

Does this registration ensure a seat in this course?

Not necessarily. We will ask you to respond to an RSVP from us to confirm your seat in this course. It is also dependent upon your completion of the 2 hour online pre-work.

If it's virtual, does that mean it's self-paced?

Partially. Online pre-work is required PRIOR to the Zoom Class. Once pre-work and virtual class are completed, you will be required to complete a post-test & evaluation to be formally certified. We recommend doing the pre-work as soon as possible. Pre-work can be done in stages since the online interface allows for saving your work and coming back to it.

The Zoom class portion is mandatory.

Does the Zoom portion of the course actually take 5 hours?

YES - the 4 hours includes instructor led training, class participation and breaks (including a 30 minute lunch break).
