About the Event :

The sportscotland and SAMH strategic partnership aims to build capacity across sport and physical activity communities. Across 2020 and 2021 so far, we have focussed with the professional staff network on exploring and understanding mental health and wellbeing in the context of sport and physical activity.

This initial wellbeing sessions that took place across July-October have now been followed up with this Maintaining Wellbeing Reflection session, exploring how you have used learning from the first session, if you have implemented any changes, and how things stand currently for you.

The next session will focus on how to have a mental health conversation and the learning outcomes are below:

• Identify and understand ways to help you have a Mental health conversation

• Knowledge of a potential structure for having a Mental health conversation

• Understanding Roles and Responsibilities and how to manage expectations

• Know how to access support for you and others

In advance of the session – Please look to have completed the Mental health awareness e-learning (details below).

Post session – you will be sent a resource pack containing any relevant resources based on the discussions.

*Note: We do not go into any great detail around mental health problems and suicide specifically on Zoom, as we cannot guarantee confidentiality and a safe space environment on an online delivery platform, as well as the opportunity to have private discussions between trainer and participant, should they become distressed with the content. Participants, however, will be able to privately contact the trainer with any additional questions/queries after the session has ended.
