About the Event :

Held once a month, each workshop explores a different theme and includes a selection of texts, videos, and/or music as a stimulus for discussion. We engage with feminist consciousness raising pratices, sharing personal experiences in order to reflect on structural power within society and explore where feminist hope lies. Each session incorporates participatory exercises, ranging from crafts to theatre to writing. However, everyone is free to be involved with as much or as little as they feel comfortable!

For April's session, we will be considering the relationship between feminism and mental health. In the first portion of the session, we will consider recent narratives around mental health in popular media. Following this, we will delve into education around mental health and explore the availability of support.

In preparation, we would like you to reflect on your thoughts around the source material listed below. However, we would like to emphasise that you are still more than welcome to attend even if you are unable to engage with the works below in advance of the session.

In these uncertain times, when things are changing day by day, we understand if you need to cancel for any reason. We are keeping numbers low to ensure everyone participating gets the best out of the session, so if you can no longer make it please let us know and we will make room for someone else.

Note that by registering for this event you are consenting to being filmed. The recording of this session might be used in a publication and/or a conference paper.
